Soft Space
While many developments in downtown Toronto opt for a concrete interface with the water, this project utilizes a soft interface as its parti, thereby inviting undergrowth, and a landscape that would be otherwise foreign to the city center. Propped up on pilotis, the 100 unit condo takes advantage of midrise timber construction. Inverting its mass to the top of the building, a set of louvered artist lofts receive a generous view of the water. Light wells penetrate through the building’s core providing sound and atmosphere throughout.
